This past week at my mastermind with some amazing millionaire business owners we learned a new concept to me, it’s called pivot from the summit.
What does pivot from the summit mean?
Pivot from the summit means to move from success to success. A simple concept but something that most of us are not use to.
Often times as humans, once we hit a goal we relax and start taking our foot off the pedal. We celebrate, we lose focus and then we slip.
We slip from off the top of the peak slowly slide off the mountain down to the bottom of the valley.
Let me give you an example:
How many times have you reached a goal such as losing 10lbs of the 30lbs that you want to lose? And in your excitement of reaching a milestone goal you celebrate!
Maybe you celebrate with donuts, or wine (guilty!) or maybe you stop being as focused on your exercise and nutrition and have a “cheat day.”
All of that starts the slippery slide back down the summit and you gain back 5lbs of the 10lbs that you lost, making your journey a little harder and heavier as you climb your way back up the mountain towards your goal.
With the concept of pivoting from the summit, you celebrate your success still and you continue with the habits and routines that helped you reach your goal.
No slipping. No sliding. No extra 5lbs. You pivot from the summit and go up & up instead of sliding back down and starting over.
If you’re tired of the cycle of making progress and then sliding back down the hill then I suggest that you implement this way of thinking and always pivot from the summit.
Go from success to success.
Instead of success, relax, to chill, to restarting the long climb.
Always think forward and pivot from the top!
